Rush and Other Supplies
Fibre Rush | |||||
Light Kraft | Regular Kraft Brown
| Fibre rush is a very durable one ply, twisted paper made to resemble real twisted bull rushes. There is no collecting, drying, soaking, flattening and twisting that is required as in natural rush; thus saving hours of work. Sizing up your Chair To determine the size of rush used in your chair, measure the number of strands per inch in your existing chair. All sizes will vary a little. | ||||
Size | Dia. | Approx Strands / Inch | Approx Feet / Lb.
#3 | 3/32" | 10 | 306 | ||

How Much to Order? All rush is guaranteed to vary slightly in size, from order to order, due to twist variations. All colors are guaranteed to vary from order to order. All rush texture will vary from order to order, so it is important to order enough rush to complete your entire project. A typical seat measuring 14" x 14" takes about 2 lbs. What Color is Best? Kraft brown and light kraft are best for most chair seats. The light kraft allows you to stain with a greater range of colors. The white colored rush can be dyed with our water soluble dyes. For most side chairs, it is best to order 2 coils (4 lbs) to be sure you have enough. One 40 lb spool can do 10-12 chairs. Frank's Cane and Rush

Flat and flat oval reeds are made from the core of first quality rattan. Because these reeds are easily worked when soaked in water, they are used for a wide variety of purposes. They are used in seat weaving, using the herringbone pattern, and for high quality baskets and wicker furniture.
Round,
Half Round, Flat and Flat Oval Reeds can be mixed for price breaks. Call for current prices on 50 & 100 lb bales (one size per bale) |
|||||||||
Craft Note: Flat and flat oval feeds have a smooth side and a rough side. Inspect these reeds before soaking - a small pen mark on the end of the strand helps for easy identification. This will ensure that the smooth side is exposed to view for best results. |
