Natural Raffia

Raffia fibres come from the stems of the Raffia Palm imported from Madagascar, well known for its fine raffia with the best strength and durability.

The individual fibres removed from the underside of the frond leaf can be dyed and woven into textiles, hats, mats and shoes. Also its an excellent tie-up for gardens as a natural string. Many horticulturalists use it for tying plant parts in the grafting process. Raffia is also excellent for duck blind curtains. (25 lbs. will make about 12 feet)

Hat Quality - Specially selected for making hats. The raffia leaf tends to be lighter in color, broader and slightly longer than normal Loose Raffia. Put up in large bundles, similar to Loose Raffia, but weighing roughly 3 to 5 1/2 pounds.
