Bamboo poles are all hollow and should not be confused with Rattan, which is solid and more flexible. Our standard Yellow Bamboo ranges in size from 1/4" to 1 1/2" diameter. Color varies greatly from batch to batch. Please advise what you are using it for and what color is best suited to your purpose. Be sure to state lengths ordered.

Shipping Note: In order to give you the very best price on shipping, we need to know if you want your poles cut down to shorter lengths. While shorter lengths do cost much less to ship, if you need the longer length, we are more than happy to quote the shipping in the longer length. However, the longest length that we can ship by parcel carriers like FedEx Ground or UPS is 7 feet 10 inches, or 94 inches in length.

Calcutta Bamboo
Direct from Calcutta, India, this bamboo is almost completely solid. All poles taper greatly, down to 1/4" on one end, thus making them more "whippy".

Uncut Poles
Calcutta bamboo is a very durable and versatile variety of bamboo. Many of our customers have used this bamboo for fishing poles, fishing gaffs, ski poles, martial arts sticks, knocking almond trees, fencing, flag poles, and numerous decorative items. Its length and strength make it different from other bamboos in that it doesn't crack and is difficult to break due to its thick walls. Its natural beauty is brought out when a thin coat of varnish or urethane is applied. They are available in uncut lengths or cut at specific lengths depending on the diameter. Please note that the uncut poles will need to be shipped freight due to their length.
